Premiering July 12: A stark look at the devastating illness
trachoma is the topic of a Carter
Center panel
focusing on "Improving the Lives of Women Through Public Health
Initiatives." Joanne Silberner, a
health policy correspondent for NPR and current Rosalynn Carter Mental
Health journalism fellow, moderates a panel including Dr. Paul Emerson,
Director, Trachoma Control Program and Co-Director, Malaria Control
Program; Elizabeth Cromwell, Assistant Director,
Trachoma Program and National Blindness Prevention Program
supporter; and Karin Ryan, Director, Carter Center Human Rights
Program.
Premiering July 19: The panel discussion at the Carter Center
focusing on "Improving the Lives of Women Through Public Health
Initiatives" continues. The panelists explore women's roles
in their communities, cultural changes, and how organizations and
initiatives can help women improve their lives. The discussion
concludes with a Q & A session.

The Circle, hosted by a panel of five accomplished Atlanta women of
different ages from varied cultures, religious beliefs and professional
backgrounds, features a monthly discussion on issues of spiritual,
social, political and economic relevance. Each episode
highlights an activist who is making a difference in the
community. July's activist is Shan Yohan
founder of Interfaith Sisters Dialogue, an organization that brings
women of diverse faiths together to
discuss and engage topics surrounding spirituality, religion and
activism.
