2001 saw the initiation of
another AIB institution with the hosting of the first annual Allen
Awards, a venue honoring programmers for broadcast excellence, who not
only develop quality programs, but uplift and celebrate the human spirit
as well. This event is aptly named after AIB co-founder Rev. John
H. Allen |

AIB's commitment to excellence is reflected in the quality of
the people it employs. This commitment was embodied in 2004 when
AIB was honored to receive a Bronze Telly Award for its originally
produced documentary Printing the Dream: 75
Years of Atlanta Daily World, this
documentary profiles the first African-American daily newspaper in the
united states and was written and produced by AIB staff members. |
